Inventory Condition Policy
When The Bathed Cat receives shipments from manufacturers or suppliers, it is not uncommon for there to be some damaged boxes. We have noticed that there seems to be very little quality control at the factories anymore. We have opened sealed manufacture boxes and found damaged product boxes which means that is how it left the factory floor.

Mint Condition Box / Package
Since collectors can be fanatics in the literal sense of the word, we refuse to label any manufacturers package / box as Mint condition. Each person is looking through a different set of eyes and therefore has their own interpretation of what they consider to be Mint condition.

That said, all the products labeled as NEW condition on The Bathed Cat website are pulled from the manufacturer case & placed directly into the shipping box after you have completed your purchase.

If we open the manufacturer case and notice substantial box damage, it will not be listed as New.

New Items
Items marked as New on The Bathed Cat website are case-fresh, as they arrive to us from the manufacturer. Believe it or not, packaging (product boxes) can & often do have scuffs, creases, dents, etc... straight from the factory case. These can be the result of factory handling or friction during shipping.

As far as the manufacture is concerned, the packaging is meant to protect the product, so technically speaking, the scuffs, creases, dents, etc…mean that the packaging has served its purpose. It protected the collectible figure inside the product box. For this reason, manufacturers do not consider minor packaging flaws as damage if the product inside is not damaged.

If we open the manufacturer case and notice substantial box damage, it will not be listed as New.

Damaged Boxes
It is clear to us at The Bathed Cat collectibles that many of the manufacturers typically don’t value the condition of the packaging. Packaging scratches and dents are common and are not considered damaged according to them. So, we created the ‘Damaged Box’ section of the website.

The damage to the box will not be itemized or described for each item but the product box will be damaged in some way. If you are not okay with this then please do not buy from this section.

Loose, No Manufacturer Box items
These are items that have been removed from badly damaged or battered packaging. The item itself is still in good condition with no damage.

Imperfect Paint items
These are factory level paint flaws, blemishes, overspray, paint bleeds, chipping and other defects to do with the factory paint job.
